CHIEF'S LINEBACKER DERRICK JOHNSON TO HOST THIRD ANNUAL
CELEBRITY WAITER NIGHT PRESENTED BY GLAZER’S OF KANSAS
Exclusive fundraising event benefits Derrick Johnson’s DEFEND THE DREAM FOUNDATION
LENEXA, KS - For one night only Kansas City Chiefs’ Pro Bowl linebacker Derrick Johnson and his teammates are trading their hard hits for fine serving skills at the Third Annual Celebrity Waiter Night presented by Glazer’s of Kansas. Monday, May 18 at Grand Street Café in Lenexa Johnson and about 15 of his teammates will act as table hosts and help serve 200 guests a three-course meal.
The exclusive event benefits Derrick Johnson’s Defend the Dream Foundation and its mission to provide educational resources and opportunities to low-income students across Kansas City.
“I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to give back to this community,” said Johnson. “This is our biggest event of the year. Every time it gets bigger and better. This event provides the financial support we need to reach more children.”
Last year, Johnson brought a great lineup with him to Celebrity Waiter Night including players like: Tamba Hali, Jamaal Charles, Husain Abdullah and more. He expects they will return in force for year three.
Tickets to Celebrity Waiter Night are $450 and include access to a cocktail reception with celebrities, a signature series Kansas City Chiefs football, three courses of exceptional food and wine at Grand Street Café and service by celebrities. Standard admission tickets, which do not include a signature series football, are $350. A live and silent auction will also be part of the evening’s festivities. Tickets and sponsorships are available upon request at derrickjohnson56.org under “Events.”
